Yesodam Fresh Perilla Leaf Kimchi,
Fragrant leaves, deep savory seasoning, made for wrapping rice.
Kkaennip (깻잎), Korean perilla leaves, have a bright, herbal aroma unlike any other leafy green. Yesodam layers Korean-grown perilla leaves with its signature seasoning for a deeply savory banchan with an aroma that fills the table. Made fresh (saeng, 생) and left unpasteurized, the leaves stay tender and fragrant. Lay a single leaf over a spoonful of hot white rice and you will understand why Koreans call it a rice thief.
Why You'll Love It
- ✦Korean-grown perilla leaves, chosen for their fresh, distinctive herbal fragrance.
- ✦Fresh and unpasteurized, never heat-treated, so the leaves keep their natural aroma and tender texture.
- ✦Award-winning brand, Yesodam is a 7-time winner at the Korea Kimchi Awards.
- ✦Resealable 400g tub, easy to store and serve one leaf at a time.
Ways to Enjoy
- ✦Wrapped around rice, the classic way. One leaf, one spoonful of warm rice, repeat.
- ✦With grilled meat, a fragrant wrap for Korean BBQ that adds herbal brightness to every bite.
- ✦In a lunchbox, a compact, flavor-packed banchan that pairs with any rice dish.
How to Store
Keep refrigerated at 32 to 50°F (0 to 10°C). Yesodam kimchi continues to ferment slowly in the refrigerator, becoming more refreshing and savory as it ripens. Use a clean utensil and reseal tightly after each use.
