At Unexpectedmeal, we take great care in storing, packing, and shipping every order from our own warehouse. We ensure each item is properly handled and shipped at the right speed so it arrives in good condition and safe to enjoy. Our team regularly tests packaging methods and adjusts shipping based on seasonal conditions to protect the quality of our fresh and frozen foods.
That said, some situations—like extreme heat or cold—may affect transit and are outside of our control.
Many of our items are shelf-stable and don’t require refrigeration, though you may refrigerate them upon arrival to help preserve freshness. For frozen items, partial or full thawing during transit is normal.
If your item requires refrigeration, it is considered safe to consume as long as it arrives cool to the touch. Please refer to the Instructions/Storage section on the product page for proper handling and storage guidance.
If you believe your order arrived in poor condition or may not be safe to eat, please contact our Customer Experience team at info@unexpectedmeal.com within 2 days of delivery, including clear photos of the package and contents. While we can’t assess temperature through a photo, images help us determine what went wrong and how best to assist you.
Please note that Unexpectedmeal is not responsible for damage due to extreme seasonal temperatures, but we review each case individually and are committed to helping you whenever possible.
